Atelier 19 is a new vintage inspired bridal concept boutique in Cheltenham and the realised dream of award winning designer Jan Knibbs. Here she creates her quirky gowns and accessories featuring her unique signature style of embroidery with antique lace and vintage finds. The accessories range from hairpieces, jewellery and sashes to embroidered handmade shoes made to fit you like a glove.
Jan’s achievements include winning the Embroidery category in the British Bridal Awards and coming second twice in the international Hand and Lock Prize for Embroidery as well as winning the Swarovski Prize. With her background as a costume designer she is perfectly placed to create the most amazing fantasy inspired bridal outfits for any themed, fairytale, vintage or bohemian inspired wedding. She likes nothing better than to become really involved to help turn your dreams into reality.
Alongside this she features work by other designers she admires including Philippa Couture who makes unique garments for the mothers of the bride or groom, Little Wings who make delightful flower girl dresses and milliner Gemma Sangwine, who also works with vintage jewellery to create the most stunning bridal headpieces and tiaras. The designers all love to collaborate which means that together they can create anything you like and cover the entire wedding to make sure that everything co-ordinates perfectly.
To compliment all this talent Jan has also curated an eclectic mix of old and new curios making Atelier 19 a romantic wonderland of treasures with a whimsical vibe where you can totally forget about the outside world. As if all this wasn’t enough to tempt you, Jan offers vintage tea parties, makeovers, photo shoots and workshops and also co-owns a beautiful 8 bedroom Georgian house in Herefordshire all perfect for tasteful hen parties.
