Beating The Post Wedding Blues…

‘Bridal Blues’…

So, the wedding is over. You’ve spent months, possibly years, planning, meeting guest demands and keeping on top of a million different suppliers; Now it’s all over…sounds like heaven, right? Sure, the stress has been alleviated and you’re over the moon to be married, but at the same time you can’t help feeling a little bummed that all the excitement, organising and being ‘The Bride’ is over.

I’ve been there and got the t-shirt so thought I’d try to help by passing on a few suggestions to beat the blues…

Don’t feel guilty…

It is perfectly normal to feel sad that your wedding day is over!! You’re entitled to mourn over something that your life has been focused around for the past year, and feeling a tad emotional doesn’t make you any less happy to be married; Just ensure your new husband/wife knows how you feel. Chances are they will probably feel the same!

Find a new hobby…

Whether you’ve discovered a new found love for planning weddings, or realised you’re actually pretty good at crafting, throw yourself head first into it. It will keep your mind occupied and make sure you’re busy. You never know, it might even lead onto a new and fun career change!

Going Offline And The Importance Of Taking A Break…

Going Offline And The Importance Of Taking A Break...

We are back in the room!

Morning everyone, my apologies for the radio silence over the last week.

I tried to go off-line for a while to recharge the batteries as its been a tough few weeks. For those who are self-employed and have kids; the summer holidays brings a lot of fun but its also a nightmare as we juggle work/family/home life.

For the bank holiday I planned a trip to Norfolk with the family for one last jolly before the early morning school runs start next week. We stayed in a tipi near Brancaster and it was a lot of fun. The weather was a bit hit and miss and we witnessed the biggest rain storm I’ve ever seen in the UK… but that didnt stop the beach visits, eating out and the numerous G&T’s being consumed ;)

Going Offline And The Importance Of Taking A Break...

Has anyone else been struggling with their workload over the holidays?? It’s so important to balance these things and I try my very best to do this… but it is HARD WORK! As a mum you need to be some kind of blooming superhero, who can juggle 101 jobs at the same time!! ;) With my job I’m constantly looking at a screen whether that be computer or mobile device; writing blog posts, checking social media, working on projects, replying to emails. So I needed …

That Friday Feelings…

Today we share a little project involving two of my favourite things.. Lizzie from Wedding Yurts and Vodka; Chase Vodka to be precise.

One of the most popular parts of our service at Wedding Yurts is most definitely our Yurt Bar – this amazing space is always packed out at our weddings and at this time of year, our signature cocktails are an absolute must.

We just love creating new cocktails, especially from local and seasonal produce. Of course, because we spend the summer months travelling around the UK hosting yurt weddings, our version of ‘local’ changes on a very regular basis! Every week we have a new local shop, new local suppliers and, if we’re really lucky, new local brewers and distillers too!

It’s always great when we can stock our Yurt Bar with fantastic locals ales and, if possible, wines, spirits and bubbly from the area as well. We also make our own wines and liqueurs from seasonal fruit that we forage from hedgerows and just last week, we were lucky enough to stay …

Weddings – How To Survive The Last Few Weeks Of Planning…

Wedding Stress…

Today our Deputy Editor, Hannah, shares some of her advice, worries and excitements about her upcoming wedding and how to survive those last few weeks of planning without losing your mind!

So take a deep breath and take comfort in the knowledge that even those in the industry have their fair amount of wedding stress too…

Hannah…

The 2016 wedding season is here (already!?), and that date that seemed a long way off is rapidly approaching – trust me, I know!

With less that 2 months to go it’s safe to say there have been moments off stress, pure-panic, excitement and possibly some teeny tiny Bridezilla moments (Sorry, but whoever thought getting RSVP’s back on time was such a hard task!?)

When you initially start your wedding planning journey, you get caught up in that whirlwind of excitement when visiting venues, choosing vendors, trying on dresses – but eventually you realise it all needs to be pulled together and many of the important tasks must wait until the end. Fortunately there are ways to make the home stretch smoother (I hope!)…

Firstly, It’s okay to be nervous! People are no doubt asking you this at every opportunity, which doesn’t help when you might already been having nightmares
