Festive Dinner Party Ideas With Seasonal Food And Gin Cocktails…

‘Tis the season to get merry…

I can’t actually believe we are on the countdown to Christmas… it’s like literally next week!

Christmas is a time to be surrounded by your loved ones AND it’s all about the food and drink. This year I’m off to the in-laws for Christmas day; but before then I’m hosting pre-xmas drinks at mine with friends, then afterwards my family will be coming to mine for Boxing Day. I’m pretty sure you will have to roll me out of my house when this festive period is done! lol!

So if like me food and drink is a priority and sitting around a table eating, drinking, laughing and playing games is up your street, then todays post will offer some inspiration for some intimate festive dinner party ideas.

A few weeks ago I invited Noeleen from The Basement Florist, Louisa from street food catering Tuck In London and my lovely friend Binky from Binky Nixon Photography over for an intimate dinner party. The theme was festive and seasonal… delicious seasonal food surrounded by the prettiest seasonal flowers.

The girls brought round their bits whilst I sorting out my house for the gathering. For me a tidy house, a cool sound track, some colourful tasting platters, some beautiful flowers and candle light is all you need to make your home …

Christmas is COMING!!!

We are finally on the countdown to Christmas and the task of finding gifts for your loved ones has begun!

If like me you have been with your partner for a while, it’s bloomin’ hard to keep finding new and ‘original‘ gifts to give each other year after year; Lee is already moaning that he doesn’t know what to get me!

To be honest, I try not to fall into the Black Friday and Christmas season consumerism hell hole… I don’t like to over spoil my kids and my living room on Christmas day doesn’t look like a toy warehouse. What we try to do in our household, is buy one or two special gifts and then gets some fun stocking fillers. For me this year, Christmas is all about comfort… If I was to get anything like PJ’s, slippers, smellies, cushions, candles I would be one happy lass!

Today I have some serious cool and stylish gifts ideas from Amara; so whether you have just begun your Christmas shopping, looking for your final few pieces or planning on leaving it to last minute, I have some fab ideas for him and for her.

Enjoy shopping!

I’m a mum of two crazy kids, I run my own business, Im sometimes sleep deprived, I juggle daily life (just about!) and I’m sometimes I’m a bit loopy (but aint we all! ;)  If Valentine’s Day is an excuse for us to give each other a little gift to say ‘thanks for putting up with me’ and put everything on hold to spend some ‘us’ time together, then so be it!

Beating The Post Wedding Blues…

‘Bridal Blues’…

So, the wedding is over. You’ve spent months, possibly years, planning, meeting guest demands and keeping on top of a million different suppliers; Now it’s all over…sounds like heaven, right? Sure, the stress has been alleviated and you’re over the moon to be married, but at the same time you can’t help feeling a little bummed that all the excitement, organising and being ‘The Bride’ is over.

I’ve been there and got the t-shirt so thought I’d try to help by passing on a few suggestions to beat the blues…

Don’t feel guilty…

It is perfectly normal to feel sad that your wedding day is over!! You’re entitled to mourn over something that your life has been focused around for the past year, and feeling a tad emotional doesn’t make you any less happy to be married; Just ensure your new husband/wife knows how you feel. Chances are they will probably feel the same!

Find a new hobby…

Whether you’ve discovered a new found love for planning weddings, or realised you’re actually pretty good at crafting, throw yourself head first into it. It will keep your mind occupied and make sure you’re busy. You never know, it might even lead onto a new and fun career change!

Going Offline And The Importance Of Taking A Break…

Going Offline And The Importance Of Taking A Break...

We are back in the room!

Morning everyone, my apologies for the radio silence over the last week.

I tried to go off-line for a while to recharge the batteries as its been a tough few weeks. For those who are self-employed and have kids; the summer holidays brings a lot of fun but its also a nightmare as we juggle work/family/home life.

For the bank holiday I planned a trip to Norfolk with the family for one last jolly before the early morning school runs start next week. We stayed in a tipi near Brancaster and it was a lot of fun. The weather was a bit hit and miss and we witnessed the biggest rain storm I’ve ever seen in the UK… but that didnt stop the beach visits, eating out and the numerous G&T’s being consumed ;)

Going Offline And The Importance Of Taking A Break...

Has anyone else been struggling with their workload over the holidays?? It’s so important to balance these things and I try my very best to do this… but it is HARD WORK! As a mum you need to be some kind of blooming superhero, who can juggle 101 jobs at the same time!! ;) With my job I’m constantly looking at a screen whether that be computer or mobile device; writing blog posts, checking social media, working on projects, replying to emails. So I needed …
