Glorious, Sunny Outdoor Ceremony…
A while back I emailed our Mr & Mrs Unique suppliers and asked them to tell us about an amazing wedding with that really stood out to them… I immediately got an email back from the fab team at PapaKåta, regarding Lucy and Andrew’s outdoor wedding!
Festival of Fun…
Flanked by bridesmaids in individual floral maxi dresses, Lucy’s entrance over a hill into the outdoor ceremony space with hay bale seating was anything but traditional, and yet it was as romantic and sentimental as a ceremony from a bygone era.
Lucy and Andrew thought about how they wanted their wedding day, what was important to them, their friends and family. They paid particular attention to wedding day traditions and then dismissed those that didn’t carry the sentiment or meaning for them that they wanted to express on their wedding day.
Out with the traditional cake cutting and first dance formalities and in with personalised lunch set envelopes with cutlery, napkin and recipe cards (– guests mealtime recommendations for the happy couples first year of marriage) and palm leave plates.
The teepee interior décor was simple -‐ orange & turquoise paper lantern decorations, vintage green and white glass vases with seasonal flowers and the all-‐important festival feature – a PapaKåta open fire.
Filled to the brim with family and friends, the long beech wooden tables were lined with baskets of food offerings from all over the world and sweet treats took the place of a traditional cake.
Guests partied to acoustic performances by friends and family and were treated to a set by electric duo Foura, followed with drumming and dancing around the fire under twinkling fairy lights.
Bohemian doesn’t do it justice; this is one beautiful festival inspired wedding – unique in it’s simplicity and paired back personal touches.
WE LOVE IT!!! Its so lovely to see our suppliers, the work they do and the awesome couples they get to work with- Congrats on a fantastic day Lucy & Andrew! Thanks for sharing your day with us.
