Pennard House is a beautiful, family-owned Georgian Manor House set in secluded gardens and surrounded by meadows, woodlands and cider orchards. A hidden gem in the rolling Somerset countryside, Pennard House is a magical setting and the epitome of dreamy English elegance.
Pennard House offers a variety of unique options allowing you the flexibility to tailor make your own wedding day and ensuring your entire day can be hosted in one exquisite location with no need for your guests to drive from place to place.
We have a beautiful room in the house which is licensed for civil ceremonies or if you prefer a church wedding, the picturesque 14th Century village church is just a short walk across the lawn. We also hope to have an outside licenced space from May 2015.
Following your ceremony, the large south facing lawn complete with rose gardens and Victorian lake provide the perfect setting for a unique champagne drinks reception and photo opportunity.
The wedding breakfast is held in our newly renovated C18th Coach House. There is an intimate dining area as well as a bar, dance floor and seating areas. The Coach house has a fully fitted kitchen, toilets and inbuilt sound, heating and lighting system, so there is no need to hire these at extra costs. You can also decorate the space as you wish the evening before your wedding.
For accommodation, you have complimentary use of the beautiful Blue Room bridal suite so there is somewhere to get ready and to spend your first night as a married couple. Also, if you would like your family and friends nearby we can offer some further rooms in the house. The rooms are very comfortable and we really try to ensure you feel like Pennard House feels like your home for your wedding day. For the more adventurous, we have 16ft tipis in the garden during the summer months!
Our aim is for your wedding day to happen in a magical, unforgettable venue whilst also feeling like a home away from home.
Combination of the traditional English Country Manor house with the unique Coach House party space.
The gardens are quite magical. There is a spring fed Victorian swimming pool where couples often have a post wedding BBQ as well as a rose garden for those romantic pics. We are also in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounded by meadows, woodlands and cider orchards.
We include the Blue Room for the bridal couple in our venue hire so that there is somewhere for the bride to get ready and for the couple to spend their first night as a married couple. The couple always chooses who stays in the house and if they do not fill the rooms, we leave them empty as we only do exclusive use. For the more adventurous, there are tipis in the garden for guests to experience a night under the stars!
We welcome anything creative – well we are less than a mile from the Glastonbury festival site! And as well as hosting lots of wonderful weddings, we also run yoga weekends, creative writing, painting and song writing courses.
Flexibility is very important for us so catering is tailor made to suit each couples tastes. No set menus here! As for any other suppliers – it’s up to the bride and groom.
We want couples to feel relaxed over the wedding so we don’t do consecutive weddings so our couples can arrive the evening before to decorate and leave the day after the wedding so that they have a relaxed wedding experience.
Only exclusive use- Everything in one place for the entire day, weekend, week!
There are no set procedures so all our couples are encouraged to design and create the day they wish for so we’ve had everything from cricket matches, to archery to swimming after the wedding breakfast. Although we provide a relaxed environment, our couples also know that their wedding will be looked after by an experienced and professional family and team so that they can really sit back and enjoy their wedding day.

Licenced Ceremony: There are many options for the ceremony. The beautiful Napier room is licenced in the house for civil ceremonies or if you prefer a church wedding the picturesque 14th Century church is just a short walk across the lawn. Hopefully from May 2014, we will also have a licenced space in a rather romantic spot in the garden.
Reception: Usually the drinks and photos reception takes place in the beautiful gardens where there is a traditional lawn, spring fed lake or rose garden to choose to sip your champagne and nibble your canapés then it is off to the Coach House for a delicious meal and dancing the night away!
