I love the concept of forbidden, crazy love and finding your soulmate. It’s that connection that is so magical and very special that is so exciting! I wanted to show the story of two traveller girls who are living alternative life who decide one day to elope and to declare their love to each other on a top of a hill, running away from pressures that comes with living in big cities and organising a wedding.

Inspiration for this shoot started with Esther from Frock Shop – dress designer and maker – who showed me this beautiful tartan fabric that inspired her to design a dress. Esther asked me if I would be interested in photographing the dress but the moment I saw the fabric I knew I wanted to make the fabric the star- it was so gorgeous! We both wanted to do something different and this tartan fabric was what we both needed to start

Intimate Afternoon Tea, London Wedding of Kim & Jody…

Small, Local and Personal…

Today’s wedding is simple, intimate but oh so cute!

Kim & Jody were married at the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow with their closest friends & family, followed by a charming afternoon tea and dinner at a local restaurant – perfect!

Tell us how you met and got engaged…

We met in the glamorous world of Local Authority and were friends (completely innocently) for 4 years. Jody even interviewed me for a job once! Then the stars aligned 3 years ago and we were both single at the same time… the rest is history!

Jody asked me to marry him the day before our 2 year anniversary. It was in our garden and very intimate and personal to us (including the use of the model of a mythical woodland creature that we had seen in a shop in Hackney on one of our many walks on the canal). Jody isn’t very good at being patient so we were only engaged 6 months before the big day.

Was your favourite part of the day?

The ceremony – it meant the world!

How was your day unique?

We wanted a small and intimate wedding with just our families there. It was also very important to us that the wedding was local to us and everything
