A Vibrant, Matara Centre Wedding…

Vibrant & Relaxed Family Affair…

Happy Friday everyone!

I am SO happy to share todays real wedding of Victoria & Dave at the Matara Centre, Gloucestershire with you! Not only are the couple radiating happiness in every single photo,  they also got crafty and made lots of vibrant decorations themselves to really add some personality to their day…

Im just going to let the couple and images speak for themselves… You’re going to love this….

Couple: Victoria & Dave

Location: Matara Centre, Kingscote

Victoria & Dave…

Photos by John Barwood Photography Tell us how you met and got engaged…

We met on xmas eve 2010 in a pub full of Christmas cheer! We got engaged in a shepherds hut on a surprise weekend away

How would you describe your wedding…

Vibrant & relaxed

What was your main hope for the day…

To tie the knot with all of our friends and family, followed by a great big boozy party!

What was your favourite part of the day…

Vic: Giggling during the ceremony and walking through the confetti after saying ‘I Do!’

Dave: Exactly the same however there was a tiny window next to the entrance and I caught a glimpse of Victoria just before she entered which i will never forget.

How was  your day unique…

The Matara Centre venue is pretty spectacular and very Japanese themed. Plus our meat pie wedding cake which was a last minute happy accident!

What was your budget…

Around £12,000

What was your biggest expense…

The venue- hiring and the meal

How did you save money…

We made everything  ourselves from the strawberry gin, wedding favours, origami decorations and all of the design from invitations to place names.

We also got a discount for having a week day wedding and did our own table flowers from Bristol Flower Market.

Dave & Vic John Barwood Photography_0006 What was it like working with your photographer…

Vic: We knew instantly we would get on with John and Sophie. they were very relaxed and worked really well together to get some amazing shots- we’re still in touch!

Dave: You only need to look at every wedding on their blog to know they’re amazing and while thats important, its equally important to have photographers at your wedding who you like and get on with! We met other photographers who were …alright… but we LOVED John and Sophie straight away. They are so cool, calm and easy to get on with.  Leading up to the day they kept in contact and even sent us an “M&S’ meal for 2 voucher with instructions ‘Not to talk about the wedding’!

They were awesome on the day and when we got the pics they were a incredible as we knew they would be!

Any advice to couples about to get married…

Vic: I did so much myself I was pretty knackered by the time the day came- say I would say delegate as much as possible. just enjoy the day, whatever happens it will be great! AND make sure you can an incredible photographer!

Thank you so much for sharing your day with us and to John Barwood Photography for the stunning images… What a wedding!!!
