They also have the most amazing original 1920’s bow top caravan!!!! How cool is that! This stunning caravan has been lovingly restored and is intricately painted inside and out. How about this for your wedding night or honeymoon!!!

Here Lindsay from Bath Vintage Hire tells us more about what they offer and how they can make your day magical…

Tell us a bit about your business…

We are based in the North East Somerset countryside with our array of children and chickens, with outbuildings full of an eclectic mix of rescued bygones.

We have made Bath Vintage a business out of our lifestyle and what we love. The business is based on our obsession with finding ‘something a bit different’ and making a couple’s wedding unique and special.

What made you start up the business…

My husband has spent the last 18 years restoring old furniture and designing and building interiors from reclaimed materials for live-in vehicles, including horse boxes and vintage caravans. After spending 20 years in the arts, I thought it was time to re-channel my creativity and join my husband in the business full time, expanding and following our love of the vintage, the quirky and the reclaimed.

Having recently got married ourselves, we created a wedding which reflected ‘us’. Through this process we realised that there were lots of other couples who shared our style of wedding. With our years of collecting, we wanted to help other couples realise their perfect wedding.

What makes you Unique…

Bath Vintage is not just a business which hires out vintage accessories. The business was born out of a genuine love and passion for quality, vintage design and function and a dedication to salvaging and restoring. This dedication, we hope, is reflected in our collection of unusual objects and accessories.

What kind of couples match your style of service…

Couples who appreciate a DIY aesthetic and share a love of vintage with a bit of a twist. Couples who think creatively and ‘outside the box’. Those who are freethinking and want something a bit different.

Most favourite event/ wedding…

I have got to be honest, it was my own. Any bride will say the same. We did everything ourselves. From staying up all night designing and printing our own wedding invites to making our own trestle tables, collecting 150 dining chairs and endless boxes of crockery.

My husband bought an old trunk from an auction a few years ago for £1, not realising that inside it was a beautiful full length 1930’s lace wedding dress with tiny shoes, matching tiara and veil. He saved it and when we decided to get married, I tried it on and it fitted perfectly!! We danced all night with our family and friends (although I did replace the tiny shoes with a pair of white flowery Dr. Martens).

People’s reaction to your business…

They love the quirky collection.

Future plans…

We have just set up Teabelly’s pop up café, which can be hired for festivals, weddings and parties. It can adapt to any vintage event, from the sophistication of Breakfast at Tiffany’s to the theatrical mischief of a mad hatters tea party and everything in between. I would like to see how Teabelly’s might expand…but for now, we are just enjoying helping couples create their perfect day.
