Brympton House is a beautiful Grade 1 listed Stately Home set amidst the rolling hills of Somerset. It has been occupied by just three families for over a thousand years. Today the estate is leased by a Heritage Trust and all of the weddings held at this amazingly beautiful house are looked after by Brympton House Weddings & Events.
Brympton has been considered by country life magazine the most beautiful house in England and it is ideal to be the place to celebrate a beautiful union. It is such a versatile venue as you can choose to have your big day indoors or outdoors, you can have an intimate or large wedding, you can bring your guests to stay, you can choose from three different spaces for you wedding breakfast. Brympton House has it all!
Your wedding day should be one of the most amazing days of your life, and at Brympton House our goal is to make sure that it is. Your job is simple; to walk down the aisle, looking fabulous and feeling confident that your day is running perfectly. Our job is to work behind the scenes – allowing the two of you to relax and enjoy your day
At Brympton House we understand the importance of making your wedding day entirely bespoke and personal – which is why we offer the choice of 3 beautiful spaces to say ‘I Do’ in. For civil ceremonies you can choose between romantic Castle House, a medieval building adjacent to the main house, or the Temple on the South Terrace for a dreamy outdoor wedding. Religious ceremonies can take place in the Church of St Andrews, which nestles in the estate grounds, or in a variety of local churches if the qualifying conditions are met.
Following the ceremony there’s time for your guests to enjoy canapés and drinks whilst you have your ‘sweetheart shots’ taken for the photograph album. You have a choice as to where to host your drinks reception at Brympton House. Popular choices include the elegant South Terrace, which sits beside the stunning lake, or the Elizabethan Great Hall.
For your wedding breakfast Choose between the Ballroom, the Salon or State Dining Room depending on your numbers.
The Ballroom is reached by way of the Grand Staircase – the longest continuous wooden staircase in England, which looks simply perfect lit by candles all year round. Dating back to 1640 and flooded with natural light, the Ballroom seats up to 228 guests. The ultimate in elegance, the Ballroom’s neutral décor makes it a blank canvas for any colour scheme, while the simple addition of beautiful flowers and candlelight makes for a stunning scene.
The Salon seats up to 100 for dinner and features a magnificent baroque fireplace. With windows overlooking the terrace, it makes an idyllic summer dining room while the addition of the open fire and candlelight offers warmth to a sumptuous winter wedding.
The silk-lined State Dining Room is not to be missed either. A wonderfully atmospheric space adorned in shades of deep red, it seats up to 50 people for dinner. With an absence of overhead electric lights, the candle chandelier provides a romantic glow. The State Dining Room is also suggested as the perfect area in which to enjoy a pre- wedding dinner the night before your big day.
Interconnecting and with the feel of a gentleman’s club, the Library Bar and Morning Room provide the perfect spot for your guests to congregate before the ceremony for pre-ceremony drinks.
For your evening reception dance the night away in the Stables with its marble topped bar, chill out zone and sprung dance floor.
As one of the most spectacular wedding venues in the UK, Brympton House features a unique space for each part of your day, keeping your guests wowed throughout every part of your celebration.
