How to make the most of wedding planning over Christmas…

Written By Ellie at The Wedding Enthusiast

How to make the most of wedding planning over Christmas…

If you get a Christmas break, it’s a rare chunk of time off that you’re almost legally required to spend majoritively on the sofa in your pyjamas. This means it can seem like an amazing time to get a whole host of wedding planning done without any interruptions, pesky distractions or time constraints. However, it’s worth considering taking a break from the wedding things over the festive season, so here’s how to make the most of wedding planning over Christmas by doing the least.

Spend time with your friends and family…

First and foremost, spend the festive season focusing on friends and family. If they’re invited to the wedding, it’s probably (and should be) because you love their company, so why deprive yourself of that very thing? Whether it’s your family, work friends, or the pals you made on the first day of school, the Christmas holidays is a great time to spend actual time with them. Go to the pub, watch Christmas films on the sofa, or go for a nice country walk without the need to get back to discuss stationery urgently  – time spent doing stuff you love with the people you love will subconsciously get those juices flowing for the wedding anyway.

Festival Inspired, Woodland Wedding at Abbey Home Organic Farm…

Gorgeous Woodland Wedding at Abbey Home Organic Farm…

Today we share with you a really beautiful, woodland wedding held at The Abbey Home Organic Farm, in Circencester. This gorgeous festival inspired day also featured Mr & Mrs Unique supplier Jan Knibbs from Atelier 19 Cheltenham, who embellished and customised Suzanne’s stunning wedding dress which she found on Etsy.

Festival loving couple Suzanne and Des really wanted to bring their love for music and partying into their special day. With a gorgeous woodland ceremony, a tractor ride, hearty organic food and a glitter station; it was a joy filled day surrounded by their nearest and dearest..

What was your favourite part of the day?

The beautiful ceremony in the woods.. It was very personal and laid back.

How did the day unfold?

They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony under a tin shack and all their guests were transported there by tractor and trailer! I absolutely love shooting weddings outdoors, there’s so much more freedom to move and I love being around the elements.

The celebrations continued back at the farm with delicious locally sourced food, speeches and a LOT of partying, including a glitter bar as well.

Was there an overall theme to your day?

The overriding thing that we wanted was for it to be an informal gathering

Festive Rainbow Wedding Inspiration at The Barn in Avington

Festive Rainbow Wedding Inspiration…

With Christmas just around the corner (seriously where has this year gone?) we have a bright rainbow festive shoot to share with you today.

The team behind the inspiration wanted to show that you didn’t have to base your styling around traditional Christmas colours and themes. Instead they focused on colourful wedding props including mismatched painted chairs, a Christmas tree ceremony teepee, glitter cakes and lots of rainbow pom poms. Over to Beth from Beth A Weddings to tell us more…

Beth A Weddings…

The inspiration for the shoot came from our love of the 2018 rainbow trend. We love being bright and bold and felt that the trend should continue as it gets cold. Christmas should be celebrated in the most colourful way possible. Too often couples are encouraged to go for cool blues or festive reds and greens, but if we can be unique in the summer then why not embrace colour for winter too.

The details on the table were the most fun to style. Matching Christmas decorations to our rainbow chairs and place settings led to me being totally surrounded by glitter and nostalgia. It’s a great favour idea for winter weddings as it’ll bring back happy memories each year you hang it on the tree.

Colourful Wedding Inspiration…

Happy Monday Folks!

What a vibrant way to start the week by sharing this colour pop wedding inspiration.

Using the graffiti art of the Eastern Market in Detroit as their backdrop; this bridal shoot includes a donut topped cake, a thrift shop bridal dress and pastel tones in the flowers, accessories and the wedding stationery.

Feeling inspired by recording artist Melanie Martinez and an art mural on a semi-busy street, I wanted to do something super colorful, fun, and with a hint of child-like nostalgia (who doesn’t remember trying their best to blow the biggest bubble?). Eastern Market was the perfect location for this as it houses street art from various talents around the country. Due to the area we were able to play with loads of colors and textures which made for something fun and something to remember.

Would you believe that I found these amazing vendors via a Facebook group and Instagram?!

Olivia from Copper + Sage Collective created a beautiful bouquet beyond what I could’ve imaged. Using silk flowers and feathers she created pure art with various shades of pinks, red, and a hint of blue here and there. One of my favorite things about her bouquet is you can easily keep it as a keepsake, turn them into a family heirloom, or repurpose them.
