An intimate Devon elopement… Amy & Will’s perfect wedding at Millbrook Estate

Intimate Elopement at Millbrook Estate…

Have you ever considered dropping the big wedding plans and perhaps elope instead? There are obviously those who would like to throw a big blow-out wedding surrounded by family and friends; but there is also a growing number of couples that would like to hold a small intimate wedding with just a few of their nearest and dearest, or even a romanic ceremony for just two.

Either way, the decision of how you get married should be down to the you. There are many reasons why you may consider to elope… romance, anxiety, family issues or maybe budget, but the end result is still the same; that you become legal partners and say those all important vows to one another.

Today we share the gorgeous elopement of Amy and Will who decided to have a very personal ceremony with just the two of them…

How did the couple find you?

Strangely, a wedding fair. I say “strangely” as I never do wedding fairs. Maybe I should do more? They were initially looking for a photographer to cover a wedding party they were throwing for a few days after their elopement. When they mentioned “elopement” I asked if they had a photographer for that. They hadn’t yet, and the rest is history.

Sarah and Lee were just the most wonderful couple. From their first visit through the planning and the day itself – they were happy and gentle and really enjoyed it all. Their wedding was just like them full of love, laughter, colour and family.

If you could describe their day in three words what would it be?

Love, laughter and colour!

A vibrant Scottish + Mexican multicultural wedding held at East Soar Farm, Devon

A colourful multicultural wedding in Devon…

What a joyful wedding we have to share with you today!

Bride Lupe and groom Doug chose East Soar Farm on the coast of Devon to hold their spectacular outdoor ceremony. They both wanted their wedding day to be a celebration of both their cultures; with colourful Mexican Day of the Dead inspired decor working alongside some traditional Scottish-English detailing.

From Mexican food, papel picado bunting and margaritas to bag pipes, tartan and Beatles songs; it was the perfect fusion of everything they both love.

Thanks to Emma Stoner for capturing it so beautifully….

Lupe & Doug…

How did you meet?

On a feature film set in New York that we were both working. Lupe was Doug’s boss.

How did you get engaged?

The proposal was a lovely at home affair. On a quiet morning that we were both off, Doug surprised me by wanted to make me breakfast in bed, Biscuits and Gravy (a popular Southern dish and my favorite). When he was done cooking, he asked me to join him in the living room, where he had snuck in a brand new Tiffany colored Bianchi road bike and was on one knee with a small bar of silver in a ring box. I had always told him I didn’t want a diamond, so he bought me a

Badass Las Vegas Elopement

This wedding is an actual dream, so much so that we almost feel like we are not worthy (we said almost…) After they’d booked a bucket-list holiday to Hawaii with a layover in Vegas, Jen and Bryan decided one night that whilst they were there, they may as well get married.

With the same laidback, badass approach, they planned the Las Vegas elopement of dreams: a chill morning getting ready together, walking through the Bellagio casino to their limo, and getting married in A Little White Wedding Chapel, in all of its vintage Americana glory. You can feel the heat bouncing off the sidewalk and the buzz and excitement of Vegas coming through the screen in these photos from Ed Godden – and yet at all times, Jen and Bryan look impossibly cool.

Jen and Bryan…

How did you meet, and how did you get engaged?

We were both involved in the BMX world – Bryan used to build skate parks and Jen used to photograph events for a well know energy drink company so we had crossed paths a few times, although Jen never remembered meeting Bryan. We finally met in a very old fashioned way… Facebook. We never officially got engaged – instead, we had booked an amazing ‘bucket list’ holiday to Hawaii which stopped

Fun and glittery cat-themed wedding

Kathryn and Darren’s wedding was a beautiful, relaxed day that ticked the number 1 wedding box: it was totally, unmistakably, 100% “them”. With Harry Potter references, appearances from their cat Beyonce, a glitter bar, and unicorn gin, it was a celebration of them as a couple. And that’s how weddings should be. More than that, they had a stunning explosion of flowers as their reception decor, and they had temporary tattoos of their face for all their guests to wear – total genius!

Cassandra Lane…

What was your favourite part of the day?

One of my favourite bits was when the dance floor was packed with everyone enjoying the band. Then suddenly Darren walked in with his face painted like a tiger (in reference to Kathryn’s Dad’s speech earlier in the day, where he said ‘a woman needs a tiger in the bedroom’) it made us all howl!

What was your favourite shot of the day, and why?

One of my favourite shots of the day is a fun photo of Kathryn & Darren with a cardboard cut-out of their cat Beyonce! As soon as I walked in and saw Beyonce, I knew I wanted to put her in one of the shots. Being a cat lady myself, I knew how much it would mean for
