Lockdown, Wedding Postponement and the Unwedding of Hannah + Ben…

Lockdown, a Wedding postponement, and the Unwedding of Hannah + Ben…

Hannah and Ben are both in the wedding industry (Steel and Oak Co. photos + film) and when the pandemic hit not only was their business affected by the lockdown, they also had to postpone their own wedding!

Even with everything going on around them, as a wedding photographer and videographer duo, they did not want their wedding date to come and go without capturing it in some way. So they grab their best mate Xantha from Xantha Wedding Photography and hit the beach for some rather AMAZING portraits.

What Hannah didn’t know was that Ben had organised a surprise ‘Unwedding‘ gathering of a few close friends in their garden to remember the date in style! Yes, there were lots of tears, laughter and an epic ‘it was a shit day anyway‘ unwedding cake!

Magical, Festival Inspired Woodland Wedding at Low Hall The Lakes…

Woodland Wedding with magical festival vibes at Low Hall The Lakes…

Morning all :)

I can’t wait to share with you the magical Autumn wedding of Charlie and Bekki which was held at Low Hall The Lakes; an enchanted woodland and barn wedding venue in the Lake District.

With a festival inspired outdoor ceremony and a beautiful reception in the old stone barn with ribbon and flower chandeliers (created by the bride herself,) it truly was a gorgeous, flower-filled day.

How did you meet and get engaged?

We met in 2004 through mutual friends, we lived a party lifestyle and became good friends through our tastes in music. We were together for 10 years until Charlie popped the question. We got tickets for a festival called Solfest, Charlie booked us a luxury yurt for the weekend, found the perfect ring and proposed inside the yurt. We popped the Bollinger and had an amazing weekend. The whole idea of getting engaged whilst doing what we had always enjoyed together was really special.

Was there an overall theme to your day?

The theme was “Us” we tried our best to incorporate a mixture of our tastes, styles, and interests. There were elements of festival vibes, combined with our love of the natural world, Charlie’s love

A relaxed London wedding with two art galleries, a sunshine aisle, colourful paper cranes and a gin garden party…

A stylish London Wedding set at two galleries…

When planning their wedding day, Anna and Sam threw away the rule book and removed the worries of standard wedding traditions; keeping their day relaxed and stressfree. For them it was important to celebrate and share things that were important to them as a couple – good food, drink, and ceilidh – a nod to their uni days together in Edinburgh.

With a sunshine deckchair fabric aisle, two gallery venues, colourful paper crane wedding decor and a gin garden party reception – their day was stylish, modern, and fun!

How did you meet and get engaged?

We met in our first year at Edinburgh University – we lived on the same floor in student halls. We didn’t actually start dating until I moved down to London to do my Masters though, and met Sam for an exceptionally boozy night in a largely empty cocktail bar.

Ten years later, Sam popped the question on a Sunday morning whilst we were on the sofa absent-mindedly watching ‘Steve Bagshaw’s deadly 60’. As I said yes, Steve was chasing an Aardvark. It was exactly the kind of unfussy proposal I’d wanted – left to his own devices, Sam would have come up with something a lot more elaborate.

Luxury, flower filled barn wedding at Happy Valley in Norfolk

Flower filled barn wedding at Happy Valley

Be ready for some serious inspiration with today’s floral-inspired beautiful barn wedding. Hosted at MMU favourite Happy Valley, the magical woodland barn and glamping destination in Norfolk.

I spent a long weekend last year with my family staying in their onsite treehouse, so I can personally confirm that Happy Valley is truly magical! It’s 100% a venue you can truly make your own and that’s just what this gorgeous couple did.

Hannah and Peter based all their supplier choices on personal connections or long-standing admiration from the choice of venue to the catering, photographer to stationery.  They found their dream team and trusted them with every detail, totally nailing a luxuriously rustic and authentic wedding day. How did you meet and get engaged?

We met at Wilderness Festival in Oxford through some mutual friends we were both camping with – both from Norfolk but had never crossed paths before! We got engaged on the day we got the keys to our new house.

Was there an overall theme to your day?

No real theme per se, but there was definitely a floral theme! Seasonal, flower heavy, big and blousy renaissance style blooms.

How would you describe your day?

Pure bliss and magical! We were surrounded

Creative Dreamers Magical Barn Wedding at The Giraffe Shed

Magical Creative Wedding at The Giraffe Shed…

We are beyond excited to be able to share this dreamboat of a wedding, the first-ever at MMU supplier’s The Giraffe Shed.

We’ve swooned over the perfect countryside setting, the blank canvas modern barn with endless possibilities so it’s such a thrill to see how this American Groom and Welsh Bride created their dream day there.  And what a day it was filled to the rafters with a shed load of incredible DIY projects – hand-dyed linens, custom artwork alter backdrops, hand-stamped place cards, home-roasted coffee favors and so much more.

The multi-talented bride even took a course to be able to master the floral styling on the day, with the exception of the bouquets which were lovingly prepared by the wonderful Grace & Thorn. And just wait until you see the bridal outfit, only an Odylyne The Ceremony gown with personalised Hermione De Paula veil.

Bravo Zach & Hannah, bravo.

How did you meet and get engaged?

ZachWe met in Northern California. She showed up to a music gig I was playing and I saw her across the room. I recognized her from a previous event so I made my way over and asked her to dance. Thinking I had been the one to make the first move, little did
