Awesome Wedding Vehicles with a Difference…

A few weeks back I had an email from the lovely Suzie from Kushi Cars, one of our longest running Mr & Mrs Unique members. Now Suzie is not only a super lovely lady and has the most amazing Indian Ambassador wedding car, she is also one of the organisers of a group called GlosWed; an amazing collection of wedding suppliers across the Gloucestershire area… so she is a lady in the know!

When she emailed to say that she and some other awesome wedding vehicles were taking part in a photo shoot and would I like to feature some of the images, I jumped at the chance. The shoot not only featured her gorgeous Indian Ambassador car but also the Big Red Bus Bar and its sister Little Red Bus Bar, Quirky Gertie the Vintage Caravan and The Wild Oven, caterers with a customised Land Rover Defender with built in wood oven!!! How awesome is that! Here Suzie and the team tell us more about the day and what they offer:

Suzie from Kushi Cars…

The super cool Cotswolds, covering Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire is positively teeming with wedding events companies using quirky and fun vehicles as the main hub (errr, excuse the pun) of their businesses.

Each company is beautiful, unique and sometimes downright crazy in their own, very individual ways.  From a Bollywood-inspired Indian wedding car to a London Route-master Bus bar, the Cotswolds is THE place to find companies that will bring lashings of colour, personality and utter amazingness to any event.

To balance-out our eclectic array of motors, we were lucky enough to position them on the lawn in front of ‘Severn End’; a privately owned Grade II Elizabethan mansion. Available to hire for exclusive use, this country house has been in the same family since the year dot. There’s absolutely nothing like it for authenticity and location, nestled next to the meandering River Severn in Worcestershire.

Here is a bit more info from each of the suppliers who featured on the shoot:

Big Red Bus Bar…

Big Red Bus Bar is an original 1967 London Routemaster bus, which has now been fully refurbished to the highest standard into a fully functioning bar. It combines a passion for beautiful, classic vintage vehicles, and a love of good quality local beers.

We have just added the exciting new Little Red Bus Bar to the fleet – a stunning 1970 VW T2 camper van bar, capable of reaching all those places you can’t get a double decker bus.

We also have the Tiny Wee Bike Bar – a vintage Pashley “Stop Me And Buy One” ice-cream bike, perfect for refreshing your guests between the ceremony and reception.

Kushi Cars…

Looking for something a bit different? Then look no further than this kitsch, Bohemian, Indian-decor car based in The Cotswolds.  The beautiful cream 1950s style vintage Indian Ambassador Kushi Car is festooned with flowers and its interior adorned with lavish fabrics of red and gold.

There are only a few of these uniquely decorated cars in England and only one available in the Cotswolds.  For nearly 40 years, they were the only car in India so they now boast an iconic, retro, old skool vibe.  They are a nod to the past and the old country for every bride bringing an Indian theme to her wedding.  Based on the Morris Oxford from the 1950s, they also appeal to Fathers’ of the Bride who remember them well.

Quirky Gertie Vintage Caravan Hire…

Quirky Gertie is a classic 1960’s caravan, available for day hire. She comes with many props to set the scene. Including Bertie, a 1950’s Triumph push-bike, and a lovely trunk of goodies for some individual photos!

Gertie is a special little van, which we can site at the couples’ venue, she can be a backdrop for photos, inside or out, maybe a place for afternoon tea under the canopy, or a funky 60’s do! We really want people to enjoy her, and make her part of their day, in what-ever way they would like.

She will appeal to couples looking for that special, something different to add to their day. Whether it’s for the her quintessentially English look, slightly eccentric caravan appeal or even her built in funky 60’s drinks cabinet, Gertie is definitely Quirky!

The Wild Oven…

The Wild Oven was born out of a passion for great British food and a desire to find a way of serving up delicious fresh ingredients and incredible flavours in a unique and theatrical way.

Their style is quintessentially British and unique; with the quirky twist that you would expect from a heritage style brand. They cook with fire, using the best ingredients, in 3 unique catering units including their really cool customised Land Rover Defender with built in wood oven! They are a rare breed who can provide exquisite drink receptions, day time feasts, evening dining and eve breakfast at the same event.
