Festive Cocktail Recipes by Hayley from Lucky Pineapple Bars…

Christmas entertaining can so stressful, can’t it?! But with a few cocktail classics up your sleeve you WILL be the host with the most!

Here is Lucky Pineapple’s  round up of five simple – yet super special! – festive cocktails to quaff merrily this Christmas.

Let’s get you feeling festive, not frazzled!

Gingerbread Spiced Clementine Fizz…

15ml clementine juice & gingerbread spices syrup, 1 tsp Campari, top with chilled Prosecco & stir.

Garnish suggestion: Dehydrate an orange slice and pierce with a small rosemary sprig. Attach to the side of the glass with a bamboo clip. A clementine skin twist also works well as an easier alternative to dehydrating fruit.

Cranberry & Elderflower Fizz…

15ml Cranberry juice & lime zest syrup, 15ml St Germain/elderflower liqueur, top with chilled Prosecco & stir.

Garnish suggestion: Skewer a lime skin twist and whole cranberries onto a bamboo cocktail stick. Spray with edible gold for extra boujee points!

Hibiscus & Lime Fizz…

15ml Hibiscus & lime zest syrup, 15ml St Germain/elderflower liqueur, top with chilled Prosecco & stir.

Garnish suggestion: Serve with an elegant lime twist

A note on syrups…

We always make our own syrups and infusions on the Lucky Pineapple bars and if you would also like to do the same, but never done it before have no fear – it’s super easy! All you need to do is prepare your syrups in advance and that’s the hard work done.

The general rule of thumb with syrups is to work with a 1:1 ratio. Equal parts sugar to equal parts water/juice, and just scale up for however much you need to make.

Add your desired fruit juice and/or spices/flowers/zest during the boiling & dissolving process and then strain and cool once the syrup has reduced down. With citrus flavours, use the zest as it is in the oils where the flavour will be transferred.

By the way – you can buy most flavour syrups in the supermarket or online if you’re really short on time.

Snowball…

We couldn’t do a round up of Christmas cocktails without including the most Kitsch-massy of them all – the SNOW BALL.

Build your glass with crushed ice, 30ml Advocaat, 20ml Cognac, juice of half a fresh lime, top with good quality sparkling lemonade and stir throughly.

Garnish suggestion: Top with crushed ice and pack into snowball shape. On top of the ice, place an orange or lime peel cut to shape with crinkle craft scissors, and a red cocktail cherry

Winter Berry Mojito…

A summer favourite, with a seasonal twist. This Winter Berry Mojito will give you those good kind of chills!

In a glass, muddle ten mint leaves, sugar syrup, the juice of 1 lime, and a small handful of blackberries, blueberries & raspberries. Fill the glass three quarters full with crushed ice, stir throughly, and add 50ml golden rum before stirring again. Top with a splash of cranberry juice and a splash of soda.

Garnish suggestion: Top with a heap of crushed ice, add a large sprig of mint and a cocktail stick skewered with whole winter berries

I hope this round up of simple Christmas cocktails will make your festivities run a little smoother and, most importantly, impress your guests this party season!
