A Colour Pop, Modern Bride…
What a Friday treat for you!
This modern, colourful styled shoot hit my inbox a couple of weeks ago and it’s packed full of gorgeous bridal inspiration. I totally love the modern, chic bridal wear from House of Ollichon, up against the industrial backdrop and the vibrant pops of colour used for the accessories.
We ADORE this shoot! A truly modern bride; chic, stylish and super cool. Thank you to the awesome team for sharing their work with us.
Over to Fiona from Emerald and Jade Flowers to tell us more…
I fell in love with the work of House of Ollichon the moment I discovered them on social media! When they agreed to collaborate on a shoot I was over the moon! The outfits being so unusual and beautiful, I decided on a “less is more” approach for the shoot, as I didn’t want to overload the outfits with too much detail when they were already incredible!
When it came to deciding how to style it, I knew I would be using bright colours. I simply love bright colours, especially in weddings. You can’t beat a bright coral and hot pink that just pop against the bride’s white outfit! Love it, love it, love it! If you’re looking for bright flowers, then I’m your girl!
I also love a modern twist on things, especially with the jumpsuits. Therefore, the accessories were picked in light of this, from the gorgeous coral Kurt Geiger high heeled sandals, to the jewellery. I personally love gold and statement jewellery. When I discovered Stella and Dot, I absolutely adored their collection and I am so pleased how gorgeous the jewellery looks with the outfits.
We wanted to let the outfits truly speak for themselves, namely by making the most of the white colour. We then wanted to add a splash of metallic with the gold accessories (the belt is the one I wore for my wedding!) and then a splash of bright colour with the flowers and the shoes – for this we chose lots of pinks and corals, with some yellows too. The venue also has lots of great industrial features and brick walls, so we wanted to keep the looks looking crisp and fresh against it to keep it modern.
Mostly, I would advise you to trust your suppliers. That’s mostly what I did on the day of the shoot. I told everyone the style and vibe I was after, but they let them get on with what they do best. It’s the same for your wedding day. When I got married, once I have told the suppliers what I was after, what mattered and what didn’t, we trusted them to get on with it and deliver.
